School Atlas (“the Service”) is a product of RealHunt (“we”, “us”). By accessing the Service, you agree to these terms.

Data Attribution

School quality ratings displayed on this site are derived from publicly available EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office) assessment data for the 2024-25 academic year. These are derived scores calculated using RealHunt's proprietary methodology and are not official EQAO ratings.

Intellectual Property

The rating methodology, score calculations, data aggregation techniques, and visual presentation used by School Atlas are proprietary to RealHunt and protected by copyright. You may not:

• Reproduce, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the rating methodology or derived scores in bulk
• Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, crawlers) to systematically extract data from this site
• Create derivative products or services using data obtained from School Atlas
• Use our sub-scores (math/literacy breakdowns), multi-year rating history, or rating methodology to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine-learning models, or to build or augment a competing dataset or product
• Frame, mirror, or embed any part of this site without written permission

Permitted Use

You may use School Atlas for personal, non-commercial research into school quality for the purpose of making informed real estate and education decisions. Sharing individual school page links is encouraged.

Enforcement

Access to School Atlas is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. The RealHunt ratings and the underlying methodology are proprietary intellectual property of RealHunt. Individual school and city pages are openly accessible and may be indexed by search engines and AI assistants; however, unauthorized bulk extraction or redistribution — or use of our sub-scores, rating history, or methodology to train models or build a competing dataset — violates these terms and may result in legal action.

Disclaimer

School ratings are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute educational advice. School quality is multifaceted and cannot be fully captured by standardized test scores alone. We recommend visiting schools and speaking with administrators before making decisions.

Data accuracy is not guaranteed. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure data quality, errors may exist. The Service is provided “as is” without warranty.

Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

School Atlas does not require account creation. We collect the limited data below — for analytics, and to protect our proprietary school ratings from automated scraping:

• Analytics data: Page views, feature usage, and general geographic region (via Vercel Analytics). This data is aggregated and not linked to individuals.
• Technical data: Browser type, device type, and screen size for responsive design optimization.
• Abuse-prevention logs:When detailed school rating data is requested, we record a one-way salted hash of your IP address, a session identifier, a network (TLS) fingerprint, and which school's data was requested. This is used solely to apply fair-use limits and to detect and prove unauthorized bulk extraction of our proprietary ratings. It is retained for no longer than 90 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our intellectual property.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for theme preference (light/dark mode) and an anti-abuse session identifier (atlas_sid) used to apply fair-use rate limits. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

PIPEDA Compliance

We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We collect only the limited, pseudonymous abuse-prevention and analytics data described above, retained briefly. To exercise your access, correction, or deletion rights regarding it, contact us via the support channel above.

Third-Party Services

• Mapbox: Provides map tiles. Subject to Mapbox Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: Hosts the site and provides analytics. Subject to Vercel Privacy Policy.
